It’s hard to be a youth today! And it can be challenging to parent middle and high school youth right now. Mt. Tam Church offers a variety of ways to nurture youth on their journey to adulthood.
Come Join Us!
Sunday Mornings
Youth, grades 6-12, are invited to remain in worship with their families and to take advantage of our “Worship Notes” worksheet to engage with the service and sermon. Youth are also encouraged to take a leadership role in worship, using the gifts and talents they feel called to share.
Youth Ministry: Faith, Fun & Service
Throughout the school year, youth, grades 6-12, have the opportunity to participate in our various programs. We meet once or twice a month focusing on three areas for our youth: faith, fun and service. Examples of activities include a service clean up day along the Bay, an interfaith youth gleaning at Green Gulch Farms and outdoor movie nights.

Wednesday After-School Program
All youth from the community, 6th grade and up are welcome to come to our youth room, open from 2-4pm on Wednesdays, to hang out, do homework, play games, or have a snack. This is a great place to hang out between school and sports or parents picking up. The room will be supervised by a Mt. Tam Church staff person and another adult volunteer, all of whom are background checked. Open during the school year only. Please email [email protected] to check dates.

Confirmation
Confirmation classes take place during the school year, every other year. Contact Tricia Wiig to learn more ([email protected]).
Service Trips
Youth, grades 6-12, will have the opportunity to participate in service trips. Come share your gifts, engage with the community, and learn to see the face of God in yourself and in others. Contact Tricia Wiig to learn more ([email protected]) about this year’s trip to Del Norte County with Sierra Service Project, July 21-26.
Leadership
Youth are encouraged to participate in leadership roles throughout the year both within the congregation and with our children’s ministry program. They can serve as craft leaders for children’s events, offer special music or read scripture during worship or become camp counselors during our annual children’s faith-based summer camp program. We invite youth to share their talents and gifts with the church in whatever area they feel called to serve.
